The French artist Matisse is the inspiration for this printmaking weekend. His vibrant paintings zing with colour and pattern and his famous paper cuts dazzle with their lively interaction of shape and colour. On this course we will explore these striking colours, shapes and pattern ideas through the possibilities of mixed-media monotype. You will learn how to use rollers and brushes to build up layers of colour. Mandy will demonstrate making marks and patterns with a variety of tools and creating crisp shapes using acetate. You will be able to incorporate collage and drawn lines to create original mixed-media prints. Be warned, this course is not for anyone who is afraid of colour!
