Duration: 5.5 hours

New Dates Coming Soon

Class Details:

Escape to Dissington Hall for the day, a magnificent Georgian estate situated in beautiful Northumbrian countryside, only 9 miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Upon arrival at the Hall you will be greeted with a cup of coffee or tea, before you’re taken to the kitchen to meet your class leader, passionate cook and qualified Home Economist, Helen Porter.

Seasonal food is fresher and therefore tastier and more nutritious. Helen has selected some of Winters finest produce, with which she will show you how to make a variety of tasty dishes, suitable for a cosy, relaxed winters dinner party with good friends. Dishes will be imaginative enough to please your guests, but simple enough to easily recreate at home with ease and confidence, freeing you up to spend more stress-free time with your guests.

About Helen Porter:

A qualified Home Economist, Helen has worked in both industry and education and has been freelance since 1995, travelling across Britain to work for companies and chefs, from Brian Turner to Ken Hom, assisting with demonstrations, exhibition work and teaching.

Helen is passionate about showing people how to cook affordable, delicious and achievable food. Desserts and baking are favourites to teach and Helen is really looking forward to sharing some of her recipes with you.
