Description:

The perfect, lazy day out for beer lovers, tasting some of the region’s finest independently brewed real ales, meeting the experts who produce them and seeing first hand where they’re made. Each brewery we visit is an award winner in its own right, pulling together some of the best ale in the north, if not the country.

Only 20 minutes after leaving Newcastle Central Station we visit the first Brewery of the day - Wylam Brewery at Heddon-on-the-Wall. From here we continue to travel into picturesque West Northumberland, stopping at High House Farm Brewery in Matfen, where we also have lunch to ensure any excess beer is soaked up, before heading on to the farthest flung and final Brewery of day – Allendale Brewery. Climbing aboard the Mercedes mini-coach for the final time during the tour, make yourself comfortable and maybe even catch some zzzzz as we set-off on the 50 minute drive home. Back at Newcastle Central Station you can safely continue on your way home via metro, train, taxi – or maybe even a kind friend will even come and collect you! Alternatively, hard core real ale fans might like to be dropped off at The Free Trade Inn, a legendary independent pub in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle, boasting the best view of any pub in the city, looking down on Newcastle’s buzzing Quayside.

Essential Information:

Minimum group size of 10 people.

Depart Newcastle Central Station at midday, or arrange an alternative meeting point to suit your group (may affect departure time and price).

Tour ends back at Newcastle’s Central Station or The Free Trade Inn at approximately 6pm, or arrange an alternative finish point to suit your group (may affect tour end time and price).

You must be at least 18 years old to take part in this tour.

Please do not drive home following the tour.

We will do whatever we can to meet any specific requirements you might have for your group.
