Wine tasting is a great way to entertain clients or friends, have some fun or improve your wine knowledge in a relaxed, sociable environment. The idea is to taste, and learn about, a selection of wines, with Michael acting as your genial wine tutor.

Upon arrival at your venue, guests will be greeted with a glass of Sparkling Wine to cleanse their palate before the tasting begins.Choose between one of the following 4 options.

Michael Jobling Wine Tasting - Compare the Grape Variety

Michael will guide you through the basics of wine tasting, covering nose, colour, taste and so on, before you taste up to 8 wines of various grape varieties, for example, Sauvignon Blanc or Cabernet Sauvignon and compare an old world style such as France, to new world style like Chile - there are marked differences, which Michael will explain to you along the way.

Michael Jobling Wine Tasting - Call My Bluff Evening

Call My Bluff wine tasting adds a fun, competitive element. Michael will guide you through the basics of wine tasting, covering nose, colour, taste and so on, before you go before a panel of experts, chosen by ourselves or the host, who will attempt to fool the audience with their descriptions of a variety of wines, while the audience do the tasting and try their best to uncover the truth.

Michael Jobling Wine Tasting - Blind Tasting Evening

Divided into teams for a little friendly competition, you will learn the basics of wine tasting, covering nose, colour, taste and so on. Michael will then give you a selection of wines to blind-taste, whilst giving an accompanying talk offering guidance as to what you should look for your challenge is to correctly name the grape variety and country of origin always great fun!

Michael Jobling Wine Tailor-Made Tasting

Please note that, due to the nature of the tailor-made tasting session, prices may vary. Michael Jobling Wines are happy to tailor-make an experience to suit you. For example, you might like to taste only Champagne & Sparkling Wines, focus on a specific country or region, e.g. compare Old and New World Sauvignon Blanc wines, examine wines of the Rhone or compare different vintages of the same wine. You might enjoy food & wine matching or simply want to learn the basic techniques of wine-tasting, perhaps with a quiz at the end. Events can be formal or informal, with or without food.
