Spend the day with experienced landscape photographer, David Taylor, and develop your photography skills on a technical and artistic level, enabling you to get the best from your equipment, whilst making pleasing images you can be proud of.
The class will be tailored to your exact needs and interests, whether you’d like to learn about:
-Photoshop
-Composition, including how to decide on the most effective viewpoint for your shot
-Framing the image for maximum impact - you may like to experiment with imaging frames, useful in discovering new ways of looking at and seeing the landscape
-Technical aspects of shot-making, such as depth of field and length of exposure
-The effects of light and contrast, and the use of filters in further enhancing an image
Subjects might include the grand sweep of a deserted stretch of beach, one of the area’s rugged castles, or an element of the fascinating and varied geology to be found along the region’s coast. Further inland, you might like to photograph the ruins of Hadrian’s Wall, rolling hills and expansive countryside or mystical scenes found along woodland paths.
Begin the day early to catch the sunrise, finish later to see the sunset or spend your last hours inside with David, reviewing the days images - the possibilities are endless, but you can be assured that the day will run at your own pace, doing exactly what you want!
This Experience is sold as a Gift Voucher, enabling the voucher recipient to schedule a mutually convenient location, date & time with David further down the line.
£150 is cost for one-to-once tuition at locations across Co. Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear. If you would like to organise a day with David further afield, please contact us to book, as cost will vary depending upon travel costs.

Suitable for photographers or all levels & abilities.
Award-winning landscape and travel photographer, David Taylor, was born and raised in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and now lives in the ancient market town of Hexham, Northumberland. He took his first photograph at the age of 14 when his parents gave him a Kodak Instamatic for Christmas – he’s been taking photographs ever since!
David's work has taken him all over the world, from the sun-kissed beaches and aqua seas of Zanzibar to the bright chill of northern Sweden in the depths of winter. But his first love remains the wild countryside and rugged coastline of his home county of Northumberland, which he has photographed extensively, and which he continues to delight in exploring.
David's work has appeared in a number of national magazines. He regularly writes articles and provides photography for 'Beautiful Britain' magazine, as well as writing and illustrating a monthly regional walk for 'North East Life'. He is also a frequent contributor to 'Living North'.
Exhibitions of David's work are held around the region throughout the year, and David greatly enjoys communicating his enthusiasm for photography on his extensive programme of photography workshops and holidays.
