Guided Walk: Budle Bay, Bamburgh

Guided Walk: Budle Bay, Bamburgh

Duration: 4 hours

10:30 - Sunday 23rd October 2011

6.5 miles

Description:

This superb guided walk starts off from Bamburgh, with its stunning castle standing tall above the village.

We will then follow the coastal path as we head north to the stunning Budle Bay. Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is the home to countless thousands of sea and land birds.

After passing through Warren Mill we will follow the Northumberland Coast Path again (not on the coast for this section) as we rise up and are treated to some stunning views of the coast and Bamburgh Castle.

We then will pass through some lovely farmland as we return to Bamburgh.

Essential Information:

Bring your own water, packed lunch and additional refreshments you’d like to keep your energy up.

The ground can be rough, wet and the vegetation prickly. The weather is more extreme than in other parts of the country and can deteriorate rapidly and unexpectedly. Walking boots are strongly recommended, as even sensible shoes are likely to get wet through. Please take at least three layers of clothing, the top one of which should be waterproof. Also, please bring sun screen and water.

You will be in a group of up to 15 people.

Terms & Conditions:

Before booking, please read and accept Experience North Country’s Terms & Conditions (see link at very bottom of page) as well as the following Terms & Conditions from the experience provider:

Size of Group

Each group will be accompanied by at least one guide, but many walks may have a backmarker, depending on numbers.

The ratio we use is one guide for a maximum of 20 walkers. Where more than one guide has been deployed, it will be the responsibility of the guide to ensure that groups are split into appropriate sizes and/or abilities prior to the start of the walk.

We reserve the right to cancel a walk/course in the unlikely event that insufficient places have been sold to make it viable. If this happens we will endeavor to give you at least two weeks notice prior to the walk date. If you would prefer to transfer your place to an alternative available walk we will do this for you, otherwise we will give you a full refund.

Clothing & Equipment

The ground can often be rough, wet and the vegetation prickly. The weather is more extreme than in other parts of the country and can deteriorate rapidly and unexpectedly. Walking boots are strongly recommended as even sensible shoes are likely to get wet through. Please take at least three layers of clothing, the top one of which should be waterproof. Also please bring sun screen and water. It will specify on the guided walk confirmation letter if a packed lunch is required.

The guide may ensure that every member of the group is properly equipped before starting the walk. If the guide feels that anybody is not suitability equipped they have the right not to take the person on the walk. There will be no refund available if such an action has to be taken.

Dogs

Dogs are allowed, but they must be kept under control and the wishes of both the guide and other walkers must be adhered to. Please be aware of the potential hazard to livestock that dogs can cause.

Cancellations

Walk is not transferable or refundable. If you are unable to make a walk or training course and let us know in plenty of time, as a goodwill gesture we will try and resell your place. If we are successful you will get a refund minus a £5.00 admin fee.

If any walk is cancelled due to bad weather walkers will get a full refund or be able to transfer to the re-arranged walk or another walk of similar value.

We will not be liable to pay any refunds or compensation if we are forced to cancel or change any aspect of the walk due to circumstances beyond our control, which we could not have reasonably foreseen or forestalled. Such circumstances include, but are not restricted to, war or threat of war, terrorist activity, riots or civil strife, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire or bad weather experienced once the walk has started.
