Ever dreamt of flying your own aircraft? If so, what better way to experience Northumberland's celebrated scenery than from the freedom of a microlight?! Choose between a fully enclosed Eurostar 3 axis microlight or a weightshift microlight and take to the skies.

After meeting your instructor and a quick briefing your flight begins! Sit back and enjoy the scenery, and under supervision, you can even have a go handling the controls.

Your microlight flight starts at Eshott Airfield, near Morpeth. The airfield is run by Storm Smith, an intrepid pilot who has flown a microlight from Bangalore to Farnborough AND set a new British high-altitude record flying to 20,300 feet!

If you decide to train for your microlight pilot's license this time will go towards your training.

Restrictions

Although no Declaration of Fitness is required to fly as a passenger, to fly solo you must be at least 16 years old and hold a Declaration of Fitness. This is based on DVLA regulations and should be signed by your GP (no medical examination is normally required). Medical form and information sheets are available on the CAA website www.caa.co.uk.

The weight limit for flying in a Eurostar is 95kg and the height limit is 6ft 5in.

Weight limit for the weightshift aircraft is 110kg.
